100 Year Flood Hits Home

Above average snowpack in Montana and heavy rains in the western part of the state have caused a problem in Bismarck N.D.

For those keeping score, I live in Bismarck.

My home is safe, but daughter and son and law(and the 2 grand kids) live right off the river and no doubt will be evacuated (not their house pictured).
The big Lake Sakakawea was running so low 4 years ago new access had to be built for boating. At the time it was said it would take 20 years of above average snow and rain to fill it back up. In just 3 years the lake is just shy of going over the top of Garrison Dam.
To my knowledge the Missouri river has never flooded in Bismarck(with the exception of an ice jam problem 2 years ago) since the Garrison Dam was built in 1953...
