JAMAICA BADDEST MAN TESHA MILLER GET HIMSELF I5 YEARS
TESHA MILLER, the reputed leader of the Spanish Town-based Clansman gang, was yesterday sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment for robbery with aggravation.
He was also sentenced to seven years' imprisonment for illegal possession of firearm, but the sentences are to run concurrently, so he will serve 15 years.
Supreme Court Judge Carol Lawrence Beswick convicted Miller in the Gun Court after hearing evidence at the trial, which began last month.
A prosecutor from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions led evidence that on December 7, last year, Miller and two other men robbed a motorist of a motor car. The complainant said Miller was not armed but the other two men had guns. Miller demanded the keys for the vehicle and the complainant said he handed them to him.
Minutes after the sentence was handed down, Miller was whisked away under heavy military and police escort.
Miller, 29, had said in his defence that he knew nothing about the robbery and was not present at the time it allegedly took place.
Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington yesterday hailed the conviction and subsequent sentencing of Miller as a victory for law and order over criminal forces which have plagued St Catherine especially over the years.
15 YEARS FOR ROBBERY KMT, THEY MUST REALLY WANT HIM OFF THE STREETS
