By any standard, white voters’ rejection of Democrats in November’s elections was daunting and even historic.

Fully 60 percent of whites nationwide backed Republican candidates for the House of Representatives; only 37 percent supported Democrats, according to the National Election Poll exit poll conducted by Edison Research. WASHINGTON (AP) — The federal budget deficit rose to $150.4 billion last month, the largest November imbalance on record. And the government’s deficits are set to climb higher if Congress passes a tax-cut

plan estimated to cost $855 billion over two years.

The Treasury Department says the November budget deficit was 25 percent higher than the $120.3 billion deficit in November 2009. Some of the jump, though, was due to a quirk of the calendar determining when benefit checks are mailed.

35% bracket which will increase to 39.6%

33% bracket which will increase to 36%

28% bracket which will increase to 31%

25% bracket which will increase to 28%

10% and 15% will condense to 15%

the tax on dividends will increase from 15% to 39%

capital gains tax will increase from 15% to 20%

                                   

Noting that the top three issues this election year are “one-the economy, two-the economy, and three-the economy,” Rasmussen said his polls show overwhelming support among voters nationwide for cutting spending, taxes, and the deficit.

(Politico)- In a new twist in the fight over Arizona’s immigration law, Republican Gov. Jan Brewer on Tuesday asked a federal court to disallow foreign governments from joining the U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit to overturn the law.

The move comes in response to a 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling issued Monday, allowing nearly a dozen Latin American countries — Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Chile — to submit friend-of-the-court briefs in Justice’s challenge to SB 1070, which Brewer signed into law in April and is considered one of the nation’s toughest immigration-enforcement measures.

“As do many citizens, I find it incredibly offensive that these foreign governments are using our court system to meddle in a domestic legal dispute and to oppose the rule of law,” the Republican governor said in a statement shortly after the state’s motion was filed Tuesday evening.

 Most Americans stand with Governor Brewer.

DemocRATS Oversee Longest Recession Since WW II

(WSJ) The National Bureau of Economic Research, the arbiter of the start and end dates of a recession, determined that the recession that began in December 2007 ended in June 2009.

December 2007, a full 12 months of Pelosi and company.

                                   

The business-cycle dating committee met by phone on Sunday and came to the determination. “In determining that a trough occurred in June 2009, the committee did not conclude that economic conditions since that month have been favorable or that the economy has returned to operating at normal capacity. Rather, the committee determined only that the recession ended and a recovery began in that month,” the committee said in a statement. The 2007-2009 recession is the longest in the post-WWII period. A few trillion later and things are worse than when they started.
They own it, they bought it (with our tax dollars), and Nov. 2 the folks are going after a refund.
