The Biggest Loser

Can our Government do anything right?

Evidently not...
The national mail service said Tuesday that it expects to have a cash shortfall and reach its statutory borrowing limit by the time its fiscal year ends in September. That means the agency could be forced to default on some of its payments to the federal government
And of course my favorite little Government boondoggle is far from over...
The two companies are expected to cost taxpayers $259 billion by the time all is said and done. Of course, that $259 billion is only to cover bad loans made during the housing bubble, prior to the government’s conservatorship of Fannie and Freddie. However, under the current circumstances, it seems likely that the losses and concomitant bailouts will continue mounting, and someday Americans may look back wistfully upon the day when they thought they would get socked for “only” $259 billion for these two money pits.
This is no longer something to laugh at and just be sarcastic about(but I will anyway) the future of our country is crumbling before our very eyes.
Big Government is our enemy, not our friend...

My 4 day old(yes 4 days old!) Grand Daughter is already in debt!! Ugh.

Government Meddling Produces Expected Results

From everyone except the Government!

What a foolish boondoggle those tax breaks for home buyers have turned out to be. The government spent an estimated $22 billion between 2008 and 2010 on tax breaks to prop up the housing market. All it achieved was a brief suckers’ rally that ended last summer.
But Government knows best....Especially these geniuses.

Inflation

Inflation is alive and well.

“While the federal government would have us believe the numbers are rather tame, our own personal gauge leads us to believe inflation is running between 5 percent to 6 percent annually,” wrote Alan Newman in his latest Crosscurrents newsletter that refers to Williams’ statistics.
More here.
The Government would like us to believe?
The Government is run by liberals....Liberals lie!

Satisfied With Government?

Not so much.
Sweetness & Light has a great analogy of some interesting misdirection from Gallup.
The results of that big poll Nov. 2nd 2010 should have clued them in.......

66 Percent Favor Cutting Federal Payroll

From Rasmussen.

Sixty-six percent (66%) of voters nationwide favor a proposal to cut the federal payroll by 10% over the coming decade. A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey found that just 22% are opposed and 12% are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
A 10% reduction in federal payroll costs would lead to direct annual savings of approximately $25 billion a year. However, if no change is made, the federal payroll would continue to grow by approximately $80 billion over the coming decade (assuming growth rates similar to the past decade).
So the combination of direct savings and elimination of expected increases would lead to direct savings of more than $100 billion annually. Additional saving would likely be generated as well as a smaller workforce would probably lead to the elimination or reduction of some government programs. A smaller workforce also would require less spending on supplies, training and support.

Why only 10%, and why take ten years?
We are going to need a real big ax.
